When experiencing sudden battery drain after a firmware update, follow the steps described in the article Why is My fenix 5 Series Watch Battery Draining Quickly? | Garmin Customer Support (never mind the different model, the principle remains the same at other models too): Soft Reset + going through the full charging cycle. If it does not help
Garmin Fenix 6 and 6X Solar both took advantage of GPS to provide tens of hours of continuous battery life, and both also increased GPS battery life by 66 hours. Garmin’s batteries appear to have malfunctioned, as well as GPS offset and shift errors. The battery life of a GPS bikePM+Stryd+HRM was cut in half by the time it reached 14 hours.
Give it a few full charge/discharge cycles. My VA3M was exactly like that for most of the first week before it evened out. I have a 245 m full updated and compared to 235 battery is below average. I have a 12% battery drain in 24h just wearing it. If I put a watch face with seconds the drain going like crazy.
I have previously gone through all steps, 1-3, without much changing in that process, but will try it once again. Garmin has offered to replace my watch at a cost of $200, but as battery still lasts for around 10 days (no bluetooth connection to phone though), I 'd rather save the money for a new model, a year or so from now (fenix 8-ish or so)
1148530 7 months ago. Automatically updated to version 26.00 mid week, now experiencing significant battery drain 2% per hour. Soft reset three times, no improvement. Charged to 100% yesterday at 2pm EST and now at 56%, at 11 EST … and only did a 5km run. Before I could get 5-6 days per charger and that is with running 1 hour per day.
It got better after a few days, so I would give it another few days. That said, I also had a faulty 245 where the battery drained too quickly and only lasted 2.5-ish days. Garmin replaced it. The other commonly suggested thing is check if you have pulse ox on to make readings over night.
My 2.5 year old Vivoactive 3 is usually great with battery life, lasting several days even with activities being recorded. Usual battery life is around 10% drain per day without activities. Several times in the last year or so I've experienced a sudden battery drain which has always been fixed by restoring factory settings.
I'm looking for a solution to my Garmin Fenix 6 Pro battery draining extremely fast. Here's what I did for the solution: 1- Hard reset. I turned off the clock. I held down the two buttons on the right as it booted up. I let go of a key after the first beep. Other button after second beep.
So yesterday morning I charged my Fenix 6X Pro to 100% and didn't use it for gps or anything battery consuming in general. This morning I woke up and it was dead. Extremely fast battery drain considering I usually go 10 days between charges with most features enabled and my regular gps activities. So today I charged it fully again and in less
